Thigh Lift

The Problem: After significant weight loss, often there is excess tissue in the medial upper thigh, just below the pubic area. No matter how much exercising or toning you do, that skin will stay there unless it is surgically removed.
The Goal: Improve contour in thighs. Dr. Goodwin’s technique also aims to minimize the appearance of the scar through incision location and appropriate fat removal.

Surgical Overview

Length: Usually 1-2 hours.
Anesthesia: General (asleep).
Hospital Stay: Usually outpatient.
Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness, soreness, scarring, tightness with leg movement.
Risks: Infection, bleeding, wound breakdown, scar hypertrophy, asymmetry, risk of anesthesia.

Recovery: Sometimes drains for one to two days. Resume normal daily activities usually within one to two weeks. Full recovery in about six weeks. Post-operative garment usually worn for four weeks.
Duration of Results: Usually permanent if weight remains stable.
